Cute :)

A couple of things that happened over the course of the week. And both the incidents somehow touched me and made me smile... :) Without much ado,

Incident no.1:
I travel by bus to work. Day before yesterday, I got into the bus to find it slightly crowded and 3 men sitting in the last (women's row). As I was not particularly tired and generally don't like asking men to get up from the "woman's seat" I continued to stand. In the next stop a couple of girls got in and "demanded their rights" :D . All 3 men got up. One of whom happened to be an old man. I sat down in the other vacant seat, my conscience pricking me a lil for making an old man stand. The man looked reaaally tired. I offered him my seat and he vehemently refused "no no. ladies seat". A few minutes later I saw him... dozing off even as he was standing. Made me wonder, why is it that he had a problem accepting my offer... A few mins later one woman got down from the bus and this old man settled down in the seat. It took him a lot of effort to sit down and one could really see how tired he was. Just then another woman got in and he promptly got up and offered her the seat. Couldn't help but metter "Men..." But yeah, still found it cute :)

Incident no. 2:
Today while I was trying to cross the road an old woman came and requested me to help her cross the road. (Those of you who know the real me and know about my "road-crossing skills" are warned against laughing. No, Really!!) And after we crossed the road, she blessed me and wished me a safe journey home :) . Felt good :)

Okay, I can't think of how to concluse this post. Am no longer sure why I wanted to put it up in the first place. Guess I forgot :D. Okay, I ll stop. :)

A night to remember. And v-day :)

So valentine's day came and went... And no updates in my orkut or facebook or blog profiles. That goes to show how many proposals I got. So, will someone please tell my friends to stop asking me if I got a proposal? :P (OH! I DID update my orkut profile. Changed my pic. Thankfully you guys won't have to see that. ;) )

So where was I? Oh yeah, V-day and no updates... That doesn't mean I din't have a great day. Infact it was so great I was not left with any time to update ;) .

We will start from v-day's eve shall we?   i.e 13th eve.

4 of us from office had planned on a night stay at one of our house's. Her husband was out of station so we planned on having this gal's night out and unintentionally (was it now? Hmmmm I dunno sometimes she scares me with her interest in gals ;) ) landed up on 13th night. We started at 6 from office and went to the bus stop... After a moderately long wait, we got into a bus. BUT, the wrong bus. Actually, worse... one that takes a longer route. So after a long wait by which time all of us were hungry enough to eat the bus seats (okay maybe not all of us were ready to do that, but I sure was.) we got down from the bus. Now my friends house is kind of near mine. And I HAD to have had this brilliant stroke in the morning that I could go home and pick my stuff after office. So while two of them went for dinner me and another girl(God bless her for giving me company) went to my house. After a time consuming freshening up process, we went to Dominoes outlet, where my dear friends had begun on the Garlic bread. HMPH. So much for sharing and caring :P. Well, they were at least waiting for us before they attacked the pizza :D .
So, we were eating and I don't remember much of what happened then because I was kind of focussing on the food :D . And then we went "shopping". Point to be noted is that one of the gals is committed and the other is married. So it was shopping for v-day gift. I thought I would have to endure looking at cute gifts which I could possibly be gifted but wouldn't be. But luckily, the shop sucked and there was nothing much :P . Except for some (SOME) cute soft toys, a few coffee mugs n these teeny weeny mugs with sayings  (which I got one for myself and a friend :D )  and a few other stuff (which was so ridiculously over-priced that one should probably ditch the person who was stupid enough to spend on those). We all walked out with emptier purses but biiiggg smiles. The shop and their service sucked, yeah, but the company rocked :D. My friend found this "scandalizing" card and oooh we all giggled so much. So then we took off to her home...
Earlier, we had this discussion on what we could do that night. My friend came up with a very nice suggestion of a game of cards. But I HAAADD to open my mouth and say "truth or dare" then (if you don't know it, never mind. we only picked truth so it was basically swapping stories in turn :D). So we started playing "truth no dare" ;). There is usually a tradition in truth or dare. Nobody ever says the truth. And everybody knows it. And still, we play. But whatever happened that night (I blame the pizzas!)  we all ACTUALLY spoke the truth. (I know I did. I guess they did too :) ). And yeah, if love is accepting a person the way they are (which is something I believe in), then, there was love in the air. Then and there.

Truly, a night to remember :).

The next day we woke up late. I had bed-tea on the couch :P . Some healthy breakfast of peanut butter sandwich and museli. (OH BTW! it is OK to have PB sandwich with jam on one bread right? :-|) The hostess was slightly *snorts* HIGHLY monica-ish when it came to cleaning and organising. Trust me, she MIGHT have tried lifting one of us and arranging the cushion we were sitting on, if only she was not tiny :P . So yeah, she cleaned before we started eating, while we were eating and after we finished eating. psst psst I have a strong feeling she was cleaning even while we were all asleep :D.  Then we did some really girly stuff which I shall not put up here *giggles*. And then, one of them had to make a move. She was going to office *muhahahaha*. So one other gal went with her and when she got back she came back with a bunch of flowers. For the committed gal from her bf :) . And she got me a rose, just so I don't feel like fish out of water :). Sweet. Then that gal's bf came. I started out home and they all left for lunch.

I flaunted my rose all the way home :D.

The rest of the day was fun too. But the post is awfully long already :). So, how was your v-day? :)

To
My love.

Hi,
I want to see you... No, not meet you. Just see. Maybe to see what you look like. Maybe to see what you are like. Maybe to see your unaffected smile. Maybe to see you without being seen. But mostly, to know you are there :) .

Yours,
Neha.

I got lucky!

Watched Slumdog Millionaire today. Nice movie. Though some parts of it is slightly disturbing. And I just suddenly had this thought... The major reason why we all live a better life (especially at a young age) is that we were born where we were. Thats the ONLY reason we dint grow up scouging garbage bins for food. And what did we do to deserve this good life? Nothing! So much for the claims that there is no such thing as luck :).

Hey good-bye... :)

What an year it has been! SOOO much has happened. OK, am not going to discuss world affairs because, for one, am very much ignorant and for another, most of it is depressing, if I wanted to be depressed, I would go watch news :P .

For me, its been an amazing year. CRAZY fun I had. Seem to have learnt a lot. Made some new friends. And hmmm... lost touch with a few. With college over and everything :) . OH! My first trip abroad :D . Turned 21 :D :D . Two full months with my nephew :) :) . Finally, let go of things I should. And maybe slowly... I will find what I want. I have made some choices and hope to God am right. I hope in this case, what I think I want is what I really want. (ha! I can also be mysterious  :P)
Hope... Aah! This year, some things I hoped would never happen happened, and I ve taken it surprisingly well. So, yay me!
Only sad thing is, no nothing this new year's eve :(. Waaaah! Never mind, I ll make it up next year :P
I ve never lived my life this way. I ve never really experienced life so much as I have this year. I am doing what I want to do, whatever it be, whenever I feel like. Perks of not getting call letter yet I guess. I should probably want a job, but am enjoying this entirely too much to want it to end. Maybe some time soon, I would have had enough of this and then I ll wail saying I want a job :P . But for now, I am yappy :D.
And yeah, my friends. I just want you all to know that, I could neither have got through this year(the bad times) nor have had so much fun(the good times of course :P ) without you people :) . And for that, a BIG TIGHT hug and a big kiss to each of you.
2008 has been good and bad to me. But when I think back, I see only the good times :). And now, I can't stop smiling :) .

My experiments with TOEFL

So, I gave my TOEFL exam today. And am really unsure of how I have done it :D. Screwed up the reading and speaking a bit. Reading because the mouse got stuck for a while n I lost some time in that. And speaking... it was funny. The silent exam hall suddenly became a competitor for fish-markets :D. The guy to my left was a shiva-pazham who was speaking like he was giving some freedom at midnight speech. It dint make speaking difficult but it made thinking different :D. They clearly give us instructions to speak in conversational tone and most of them were either loud today or they are unbearably loud everyday(yes! I am saying it. just imagine). And the guy to my right was a hot guy with a deep voice. Both were very distracting, for entirely different reasons :D. So with great difficulty, I controlled my urge to laugh and also my urge to listen to the deep voice and daydream ;). I could actually hear a guy in the middle of the room ( I was in one corner). Cha, speech nu sonna udanae ipdiya? Vitta soda elaam kaepaanga pola ;). Somehow, I got done with that.

But apart from that, the test was remarkably unremarkable. I think they should rename it as TOP. Test of Patience. Or is the in E in TOEFL for Endurance?

Break!

I think God needs a break. He is becoming rather sloppy!
